Di era digital, komunikasi publik tidak lagi cukup hanya menyampaikan informasi. Pemerintah dan insan humas perlu memastikan informasi dapat dipahami masyarakat, dikelola di tengah berbagai respons, serta mampu membangun kepercayaan publik terhadap kebijakan pemerintah.
Hal tersebut disampaikan Prof. Widodo Muktiyo saat membahas dinamika komunikasi publik di era digital. Ia menjelaskan bahwa komunikasi publik setidaknya berlangsung melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu state preposition, consolidation, dan solid.
Tahap pertama, state preposition, merupakan proses ketika informasi disampaikan, mengalir, dan terdistribusi hingga masyarakat mengetahui suatu informasi, kebijakan, atau program pemerintah.
Selanjutnya, memasuki tahap consolidation, masyarakat mulai memberikan berbagai respons. Pada tahap ini dapat muncul pandangan yang pro maupun kontra terhadap informasi yang beredar. Menurut Prof. Widodo, kondisi tersebut merupakan dinamika yang harus dihadapi oleh humas pemerintah, khususnya di ruang digital.
“Humas pemerintah harus cermat dan hati-hati untuk bisa menularkan, mensosialisasikan, mengkampanyekan agar supaya terjadi pada tahap yang ketiga yaitu solid,” jelasnya.
Tahap solid ditandai dengan terbentuknya pemahaman dan keseimbangan baru di masyarakat. Pada tahap ini, komunikasi pemerintah diharapkan mampu memperkuat pemahaman publik terhadap tujuan pemerintah, kebijakan, serta program yang dijalankan.
Prof. Widodo menekankan bahwa dinamika informasi di era digital berlangsung sangat cepat dan terus memunculkan isu baru. Karena itu, insan komunikasi publik perlu memahami setiap tahapan tersebut agar mampu mengelola informasi secara tepat dan meyakinkan.
“Ini menjadi penting untuk membangun trust, untuk membangun kepercayaan masyarakat kepada sebuah kebijakan yang ditempuh,” tegasnya.
Menurutnya, kemampuan mengelola komunikasi publik secara strategis menjadi bagian penting dalam menjaga hubungan antara pemerintah dan masyarakat. Komunikasi yang efektif bukan sekadar membuat masyarakat mengetahui informasi, tetapi juga membangun pemahaman dan kepercayaan terhadap kebijakan yang disampaikan pemerintah.
